Community Engineer

Canonical is seeking Community Engineers to support and grow its global open source ecosystem. This role focuses on enabling contributors, improving collaboration processes, and driving community initiatives. You will work closely with developers, product teams, and external contributors to ensure a thriving and sustainable open source environment.

Responsibilities:
- Support and coordinate community initiatives and contributor activities
- Collaborate with developers and internal teams to align community and product goals
- Create content such as blogs and updates to engage and inform the community
- Facilitate discussions and problem-solving within open source communities
- Represent the community at events, conferences, and speaking engagements
- Encourage and support contributions to open source projects

Requirements:
- Strong interest in open source software and community engagement
- Experience with developer tools, Linux, or software development
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple initiatives
- Experience interacting with developer communities and contributors
- Passion for fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing
